How to draw Sunflower

A tall, happy sunflower. You will learn to draw around a circle: the top, bottom and side petals first, then two more in every gap, so the petals come out even all the way round.

How to draw Sunflower

What you need

  • Paper Plain printer paper is perfect.
  • Felt-tip markers Washable ones, with a black for outlines.
  • Crayons Wax crayons or oil pastels.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: The round middle

    Draw a circle near the top of your page. This is the middle of the flower.

  2. Step 2: Petals like a clock

    Draw a pointy petal at the top, the bottom and each side, like a clock.

  3. Step 3: Petals in between

    Now fill each gap with two more petals, all the way round the circle.

  4. Step 4: A tall stem and two leaves

    Draw a tall stem down to a little hill, with a leaf on each side.

    Criss-cross lines in the middle for seeds, and a line down each leaf.

  6. Step 6: Colour your sunflower

    Colour the petals yellow, the middle brown, and the stem, leaves and hill green.

    A sunny glow

    Add a little orange to each petal, close to the middle. Now it glows!
