How to draw Busy Bee

A bumblebee buzzing away from a little flower. You will learn to bend stripes around a round body, to draw see-through wings with a light touch, and to show where the bee has flown with a dashed line.

How to draw Busy Bee

What you need

  • Paper Plain printer paper is perfect.
  • Felt-tip markers Washable ones, with a black for outlines.
  • Crayons Wax crayons or oil pastels.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Head and body

    Draw a round head. Then an oval body behind it, starting and stopping at the head.

  2. Step 2: A little flower

    Draw a little flower in the bottom corner, with a stem and a leaf.

  3. Step 3: Stripes that bend

    Draw three stripes across the body. Bend them, like the round end of the body.

  4. Step 4: See-through wings

    Draw two see-through wings on top of the body with a light blue marker.

  5. Step 5: Face and antennae

    Add two dot eyes, a big smile, and two antennae with dots on the ends.

  6. Step 6: Colour your bee

    Colour the bee yellow with black stripes. Colour the wings very lightly blue.

    Draw a dashed loop from the flower to your bee, to show where it flew.
