The canvas

A canvas that keeps up with your pencil

Draw whatever you like, for as long as you like, with brushes that behave like the real thing. Everything a lesson teaches, you can try here on a blank page.

The Lapis canvas on a tablet: a pencil drawing of an owl on a branch, with the tools and brush panel floating beside it

The pen

Made for a pen, happy with a finger

Press harder for a darker, wider line and tilt the pencil to shade, on an iPad with Apple Pencil or a pen laptop. Rest your hand on the screen while you draw: a palm is a palm, not a stroke. No pen? A finger or a mouse works too.

  • Pressure and tilt

Lines swell and fade the way a pencil does.

  • Palm rejection

Lean on the screen like you would on paper.

  • Pinch, zoom and turn

Turn the page to suit the curve you’re drawing.

  • A time-lapse

Every drawing plays back from the first line.
