How to draw Pizza Slice

A slice of pepperoni pizza with a thick crust, cheese dripping over its edges and a string of cheese hanging from the point. Draw the pepperoni as ellipses because the slice leans away from you, then give every topping its own little shadow on the cheese.

How to draw Pizza Slice

What you need

  • Paper Plain printer paper is perfect.
  • Pencil (HB) For light first shapes you can erase.
  • Black fineliner 0.5 mm, or any black pen.
  • Eraser A soft white eraser.
  • Coloured pencils Any set; sharpen them first.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: A triangle with a curved top

    Lightly draw a tall triangle pointing down, tipped a little to the right. Make its top edge a curve for the crust.

    Add a thick band along the top for the crust, a wavy cheese edge with drips, and ellipses for the pepperoni.

    Ink the crust first, then the cheese edge with its drips, and the string of cheese hanging from the point.

  4. Step 4: Pepperoni and basil

    Ink the pepperoni ellipses with a thin curve under each to show its thickness. Add two basil leaves with a middle vein.

  5. Step 5: Erase the pencil

    Let the ink dry for a minute, then gently erase every pencil line.

  6. Step 6: Cheese, pepperoni, crust

    Cheese, pepperoni, crust

    Colour the cheese yellow, the pepperoni red, the crust golden brown and the basil green. Leave a shine on each pepperoni.

    Each pepperoni and leaf throws a small orange shadow on the cheese, to its lower right. Then shade the crust and the drips.
