How to draw Turtle

Draw a happy turtle from the side: half an oval for the shell, a flat rim, and stubby legs peeking out underneath. You will make a pattern of shapes on the shell and colour it in two greens.

How to draw Turtle

What you need

  • Paper Plain printer paper is perfect.
  • Felt-tip markers Washable ones, with a black for outlines.
  • Crayons Wax crayons or oil pastels.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: A dome shell

    Draw a big dome, like half a ball, a little below the middle of your paper.

  2. Step 2: The rim

    Draw a long flat band under the dome, poking out a little at each end.

  3. Step 3: Head, legs and tail

    Add a round head peeking out, four stubby legs, and a tiny pointy tail.

    Draw a six-sided shape in the middle of the shell, then lines out to the edges.
